First Time to Order?
If this is your first time ordering a resale/refinance certificate via CMA's website, please read the following instructions carefully. If you have questions while completing any of the steps, don’t hesitate to contact CMA’s Closing Department (closing@cmamanagement.com or 972-943-2820). Payments are non-refundable, so we want to help you complete each step correctly!

REGISTRATION
  • Whether you are a representative (such as a title company) or a homeowner, you need to register for a Resale Certificate login ID and password. (This registration is separate from the one a homeowner uses to access their online account with CMA.)
  • REGISTER FOR RESALE CERTIFICATE LOGIN. Once your registration is processed, you will receive a confirmation email and can log in with the provided password using the form at the top of this webpage. (Typically, the confirmation arrives within one business day.)
  • Once you’re logged in, click the “My Profile” button if you want to set a more easily remembered password. Click the “New Request” button to initiate a certificate order. If needed, you can make multiple orders using the same login.
WHEN MAKING THE ORDER
  • The fees for resale certificates vary by type of transaction. It is the responsibility of the requester to select the appropriate type. Please carefully read the options listed and don’t select “Refinance Certificate” if what you actually need is a resale certificate. If you are not sure what type to select, contact us!
  • If a property is part of a sub-association as well as a master association, you may need to request separate resale certificates for both entities to satisfy disclosure requirements. Check with the county clerk, county land records division where the property is located, or CMA’s Closing Department to verify the status of the property.
  • Be sure to verify that the person/entity listed as the seller and all other info within the online form is correct. If not, contact CMA’s Closing Department before completing your order.
PAYMENT
  • Payment must be complete before the certificate package will be issued. You can pay online after login (while placing the order), or later by phone (972-943-2820) or by mail (via check or money order). If you pay by phone or mail, you’ll need to provide the receipt order #. (This # displays on the confirmation page after your finish submitting your order. Please be sure to print the confirmation webpage for your records before you close it!) Make checks and money orders out to “RTI/Community Management Associates” and mail to 1800 Preston Park Blvd., Ste. #200, Plano TX 75093.
  • NOTE TO HOMEOWNERS: If your title company orders the certificate for you and provides you only with the confirmation receipt #, you cannot pay online. Please pay by phone or mail as outlined above.
  • Payments for certificate issuance and certificate updates are NON-REFUNDABLE.
TERMS
  • Resale certificate packages are valid up to 180 days from the date of issuance, but they are accurate only at the date and time of issuance. Information noted in the certificate and appended documents may change during the valid period.
  • Shortly before closing, the buyer may contact CMA’s Closing Department to request a written Update of Resale Certificate to be issued on the day of closing (for a separate fee).
DISTRIBUTION
  • When payment is complete and your resale certificate package is ready for download (by law within 10 business days, but typically within 3 to 5 business days), you will receive a notification email. Log in and click the blue underlined date below “Request Date” to retrieve your package. (If you have ordered multiple certificates, select the date from the list which corresponds to the correct address.)
  • The person who orders the resale certificate is responsible for distributing the package and all its contents to all applicable parties. There are at least seven (7) separate documents in each package requiring download.
